Main Street Tavern

"So I am from the Gardendale area & currently live on Highway 280 close to chelsea. My sister lives in calera Alabama and so I surprised her today at her house and wanted to take her lunch and so I Google search things in that area and I thought well she's been everywhere and clearer, I need to take her somewhere special. That's how we wound up at Main Street tavern. THIS PLACE IS ALL THE RAGE AND MORE! It was so amazing, I'm telling you they had food from every Walk of Life it seemed like lol. It was an extensive menu, and that was great. So my sister got a fried bologna sandwich topped with pimento cheese and jalapenos, and sweet potato fries! (Omg it was one of the best I've ever had and I didn't even know those things went together, but it was absolutely amazing!) I had fried shrimp and french fries! Talk about jumbo!!! You could have gotten seafood, a fried bologna sandwich, hamburger steak with gravy, steaks.. how many menu offered a little bit of everything and it was large portions too. The food was so amazing it was unbelievable. The atmosphere is undeniably one of the best around. They have bicycles hanging from the ceiling bahaha... The atmosphere was amazing, I did not know Montebello was that beautiful in that area but it is. The store was playing the employees were out of this world nice me and my sister had the best time ever, I haven't made the statement to her that if I lived anywhere near that area I would be at that restaurant every single day. You could try something new every single day and not have the same thing twice. It was so amazing I honestly had one of the best experiences as far as food is concerned that I've ever had before. That was place was amazing and they have lots of options. We had a server, I cannot remember his name but he was super nice man, he couldn't have been better. The atmosphere is great the store was cleaned the parking lot was cleaning the bathrooms were clean, you couldnt have asked for a better experience!"

"Server was great. Did everything in a timely manner. We had a pineapple express drink and a appletini , they were both great. We had the Collard dip (room temp) and fried pickles. The dip we ate because we were starving, wonderful flavor but being room temp it was not as good as it could've been, not servers fault. I got the ribeye, it was not seasoned. It seems as though it was steamed when cooked. All in all I give this restaurant a 5.5 outta 10."

"Stopped by for lunch and ordered the cheesesteak and patty melt meals. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the cheesesteak was packed with meat on fresh, soft bread--definitely a winner. The patty melt was cooked to order and tasted great. The pricing was reasonable for two meals with drinks, and the service was excellent. This was my first visit, but I'll definitely be coming back soon!"

"Great place for tavern style food. Not starving and not too adventurous I showed up. The server was prompt and good with people. Food was quick and the portions exceeded expectations. I had the pimento cheese burger and was happy that it had plenty of it's namesake. The burger was juicy and well cooked and the fries that come with it were delicious and battered just like I like. Ordered a side of Mac and cheese and got a Mac and cheese dinner and it was thick and had a perfect bite to the macaroni instead of the usual limp noodle. Very good for a non baked Mac. Paid right above twenty before tip but couldn't finish my sides. Sweet tea filled in any extra space. Great place local place. Loved the "Go to the Tavern or the devil will get you" shirts"

"Been here several times been meaning to give my opinion of the restaurant. We went on a Tuesday night. Place was already rolling. Yet they have plenty of seating and we got in and got seated. Our waitress was on the ball and very attentive and very friendly throughtout our whole stay. The atmosphere is good. As I said plenty of seating and a nice bar area. They have a diverse drink selection yet don't be afraid to ask for a drink that may not be on the menu the bartenders are very knowledgeable and very good at what they do. The food was cooked well. Not a big lemon pepper wing fan. But I tried one of my daughters and was very well pleased. The fries are amazing. I plan to go back and try some more of the different flavored wings. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. The Creole rice I was in love with. For me it could have been a tad more spicy. I live for spice so for me the spicy the hotter the better lol. Definitely plan to be back again soon."
